Data Springs Modules Community Questions & Answers

New 3.0 version hides ribbon bar

The ribbon bar blacks out when I navigate to the page in edit mode, however, it's ok in view, preview and layout modes.

Also, I set up a simple search to query a 'contain' variable, but the result pane is not returning any value when it's obvious it should. This was performed in grid and html views. The 'searchable' option is checked as well, and I had the same results using 'begins with' and 'equals'.

And by the way, the new view module looks awesome. It's really an improvement over the last version, which wasn't bad, but this one is really working well so far (except for those issues I listed above).

I did not get a chance to thank you yesterday Chad for the quick fix and for working with me on the issues. Most of my problems were resolved with the update you sent and I can move forward now. I still have some apparent CSS type conflicts when the "Manage" button is clicked for the HTML module I have located directly above the Dynamic View module. The HTML module menu does not display properly if it displays on top of the area occupied by the View module. This was not happening prior to upgrading to 3.0, so I would appreciate you taking a look at that when you have a chance.

Thanks again for the great customer service and a quick resolution for the major issues!

Very cool. Chad, can you push to me one of those updates, too?

Thanks!

Data Springs sent me an update that fixed my problems, version 3.00.10. Works great. The ribbon bar is back and I can edit other modules on the page with Dynamic Views. Thanks for the fast response. Love the module. Thanks!

Just to update, even though they have not acknowledged it on this forum, I know they are aware of the problem and started looking at it yesterday. Not being able to update content in other modules on the page with a View is a real problem for me! I may have to roll back to the previous version if they can't get this resovled quickly.

Hi there,

Same issue here, This has happened to me in the past with dynamic forms. The fix was to disable query in the module. There does not seem to be a similar fix in views.

Could do with a patch for this ASAP, as it is slowing down work massively.

Thanks

Using 6.2 and just upgraded to Dynamic Views 3.0. The ribbon bar in edit mode is transparent, the "Admin" and "Host" links work but only as hyperlinks, no mouseover popups and the "Module", Page", and "Tools" do not work at all. The three links show the page url. I have two "HTML" modules on the page and cannot edit either module with the Dynamics View 3.0 module on the page. When I remove the Dynamic Views 3 module from the page, I can then edit the "HTML" modules again.

For the site I am developing, I just upgraded to the new 3.0 version of Dynamic Views. Now when I navigate to a page where a view module was working just fine, not only does the admin ribbon lose its background, but my horizontal DNN menu disappears also. The page displays this way in all modes except Layout. Layout is also the only mode where the "Manage" buttons work for the modules on the page. I cannot change module settings, but the three managment icons for the Dynamic Views module do function.

Excellent analysis and summary. I am currently studying on the ribbonbar control, though I've read the ribbonbar control tutorial, I still have many problems with utilizing it. This post helps!
