Dynamic Views 3.10 data refresh

I am wondering if there is a way to have Dynamic Views 3 refresh the data with a postback (without refreshing the whole page). Ideally, I would like it to query a table to test if anything has changed and refresh when a new entry is found, but even a timed refresh (every 1 minute) would be acceptable. Any way to do that?

  • HI Pratt, this built into DNN.

you can specify "Refresh Interval" in page settings (Section "Advanced Settings") for any page in DNN.

  • Yes, but that refreshes the whole page. I am looking for a method of refreshing the SQL data in the Data Viewer module only. It would have to be done with a jquery or ajax command, or another method of triggering a module refresh/reload. - M.Pratt 10/1/2014

  • HI Pratt, in that case I really can't help you there since I don't know a way to do this with Dynamic Views module.

This link has an example for refreshing a report module without refreshing the entire page. Perhaps you can adapt it to your needs.

Hello,

Dynamic Views 3.0 used postbacks to interact with the database(when conducting searches).

If possible, I would recommend upgrading to Dynamic Views 4.0 as these search inquiries use AJAX to retrieve search results.

You can start with upgrading to our free Dynamic View 4.0 trial version located here:

https://www.datasprings.com/dnn-modules/download-trial?productname=dynamic%20views

If you find the trial version achieving what you're looking for, I would recommend performing an upgrade of Dynamic Views on your DNN instance.

Please review and let me know if you have any questions.
